May the coming days of Christmas,
days which remind us of
Jesus’ first appearance on earth,
be more than ever
days of great inner and outer joy,
an echo of the angels’ song and of
the shepherd’s gladness!
May we live them so that Jesus,
now ascended into heaven,
when he looks down on earth
and on all the places celebrating
this Christmas,
will rest his gaze with particular satisfaction
on the place where we are staying,
so he can admire
a marvellous,
living Christmas,
built and re-built,
hour by hour,
out of love for one another,
which makes him
really present among us.
Amen
CRC ST ALBANS
WISHES OUR COMMUNITY
A SAFE, HAPPY AND HOLY CHRISTMAS
Materials Technology staff whipped up this wonderful Christmas tree for the Library ...
Thank You
As we come to the end of the year I’d like to thank you for your support, generosity and hard work throughout 2018. Every year brings with it twists, turns, surprises and unexpected opportunities. As we look back over the year I believe we can be well pleased with all that has been achieved. It’s been a very good year. Thank you.
In the mad rush that sometimes marks this time of the year, I hope that all families find moments of stillness to reflect on why we celebrate Christmas. Christmas is an ongoing invitation to each of us to be people of goodness and light.
May you all enjoy the light, laughter and love of Christ this Christmas and may the New Year be filled with happiness, good health and many blessings.
Farewell
With the end of the school year we farewell a number of staff and thank them for all they’ve contributed to the school. Thank you to Ms Daniela Ibrido who moves to Kolbe College in Greenvale and Ms Melissa O’Shea who left during the year to take up a position outside of teaching. Each has been a fine teacher and an exceptional, passionate and long standing member of staff. I thank them for their dedication to our profession; for their care and support of students, staff and families, and for sharing their many gifts.
Ms Sarah-Jayne Phillips and Ms Jaimi Dawson have completed contract positions. Although with us for only a short time, they have built positive relationships with students and staff, and contributed much to the Arts. I thank them for all that they’ve brought to our community.
Lastly, we farewell Mr Atem George and Ms Lin Lin, two members of our learning support team. Lin has completed a 12 month embedded teaching placement as part of her ACU studies and will take up a position at Caulfield Grammar. Atem has decided to pursue a new career direction outside of teaching. Their energy, care and dedication has been very much appreciated by all of us. We wish them well.
Well Done
Congratulations and thank you to all students for the way that they finished the school year. Year 10 students and staff had a great final day with a boat ride from Docklands to Williamstown Beach. It was a great chance to have some fun and to reminisce about the year.
Similarly, Years 7 – 9 students enjoyed their final day which included an end of year mass and pastoral care activities. Many thanks to all families for your support in ensuring that students finished so well.
Semester 2 Reports
These are now available to students and families through the Parent Access Module (PAM). Printed copies of the report have been forwarded to families who have requested the report in this format.
The Spirit of Christmas in Action
At the final Year 7 assembly students presented representatives from St Vincent de Paul with food and gifts that they have collected during Term 4 as part of their Giving Tree project. Congratulations to all Year 7 students and families for your incredible support of this project, and for seeing Christmas as time where we think of others who are not as lucky as we are. Thank you.
College Yearbook
One of the highlights of the final day is the distribution of our College yearbook. Once again, it did not disappoint. Congratulations to Ms Laura Cioccia and the dedicated yearbook team on producing a creative and entertaining snapshot of our year.
By their nature, yearbooks provide us with a connection to the past. They bring us back to the time that was. That is why they are so important. In years to come, the words and pictures will trigger our memories of this year. The 2018 yearbook is extra special, in that, it also connects us to the stories and memories of the first 40 years of the College and all who have gone before us.
I’m sure that students and families really enjoyed reading the yearbook and looking at the ‘then’ and ‘now’ photos. Haven’t we come a long way?

Getting ready for Day 1
It’s important that students name all belongings; including books, folders, pens, schoolbag, other equipment and all items of uniform before the beginning of the school year. This assists us in returning lost items to their owners.

OFFICIAL SCHOOL SONG
All Are Welcome
Words and Music: Marty Haugen
Let us build a house where love can dwell
and all can safely live,
a place where saints and children tell
how hearts learn to forgive.
Built of hopes and dreams and visions,
rock of faith and vault of grace;
here the love of Christ shall end divisions.
All are welcome, all are welcome,
all are welcome in this place.
Let us build a house where prophets speak,
and words are strong and true,
where all God’s children dare to seek
to dream God’s reign anew.
Here the cross shall stand as witness
and as symbol of God’s grace;
here as one we claim the faith of Jesus.
All are welcome, all are welcome,
all are welcome in this place.
