When the song of the angels is stilled,
When the star in the sky is gone,
When the kings and princes are home,
When the shepherds are back with their flock,
The work of Christmas begins:
To find the lost,
To heal the broken,
To feed the hungry,
To release the prisoner,
To rebuild the nations,
To bring peace among others,
To make music in the heart.
AMEN

A fitting end to the 2022 School Year
It is hard to believe that we are at the end of another school year. There is much to celebrate about 2022. For the first time in three years we were able to complete most of the major events and activities planned for the year. We enjoyed camps, inter-house and interschool sport, Feast Day, Immersion Days, excursions, Image 2022, performances, whole school liturgies and assemblies, work experience, social events, having families at the school, and much, much more.
After so much time apart, our social skills and work habits were a little rusty so this year has been about re-establishing learning patterns and learning to be together, work together and to once again live together in community. Congratulations to everyone on doing this well.
Our school year ended on a high note. Firstly, on Monday, students enjoyed an activities day. Year 7 students competed for Williams Cup points at the Ball Sports Day, Year 8’s enjoyed a range of challenges at Amberley, and the Year 9’s finally participated in the Great Race around Melbourne. Team work, team spirit and terrific problem-solving skills were evident across the day. Well done to everyone.
We marked the end of the year with prayerful whole school mass, pastoral care activities and an evening filled with joy, music and Christmas spirit at the CRC St Albans Carols. Thank you to Mr Marshall, Ms Petruccelli and the students who prepared our liturgy, and Ms Cioccia, Mr Marshall, Santa, the elves and all the singers and musicians who led the carols with gusto.
Thank You
As we come to the end of the year I’d like to thank you for your support and hard work throughout 2022.
In the mad rush that sometimes marks this time of the year, I hope that all families find moments of stillness to reflect on why we celebrate Christmas. Christmas is a beginning not an end in itself. Christmas calls us to be people who bring hope and mercy to our world.
May you all enjoy the joy, peace and hope of Christ this Christmas and may the New Year be filled with happiness, good health and many graced moments.
I wish everyone in the school community a safe, restful and enjoyable break.
Farewell
With the end of the school year we farewell a number of staff and thank them for all they’ve contributed to the school. Each has been an exceptional staff member and a fine teacher.
Thank you to Mr Connor, Ms Mallia and Ms Robinson who are retiring after long and distinguished careers at the College. We wish them good health and every happiness in this new phase in their lives.
Mr Brad Taylor, Ms Kristy Liberatore, Mr Mark Johnston and Ms Mariella Pannunzio who take up positions in new schools. I thank each of them for all that they’ve brought to our community. Their work has been much appreciated by students, staff and families. We wish them well as they pursue their careers in other settings.
Years 9 and 10 Electives / Booklists
These were given out to students over the past few weeks, and have also been emailed to students.
Getting ready for Day 1 2023
It is important that students have all their books and uniform for the start of 2023, and that books, folders, pens, schoolbag, calculators and all items of uniform are labelled. Throughout the year, many items are handed in at the office but cannot be returned as they are not named.

Ball Sports Day
On Monday, the Year 7 students traveled to Altona to participate in the Yr 7 Ball Sports Day.
