Principal's Message
Thank You
As we come to the end of the year, I would like to thank you for your support and hard work throughout 2021. As we look back over the year, we can be well pleased with how we have responded to the challenges that have come our way. As a community, we have shown resilience, courage, tenacity, care and kindness. Our school community is blessed. This year we have had the privilege of working with a terrific group of students, staff and families. Thank you.
In the mad rush, that sometimes marks this time of the year, I hope that all families find moments of stillness to reflect on why we celebrate Christmas. Christmas is a beginning not an end in itself. Christmas calls us to be people who bring hope, peace and light to our world.
May you enjoy the joy, love and hope of Christ this Christmas and may the New Year bring happiness, good health and many graced moments.
I wish everyone in the school community a safe, restful and enjoyable break.
Farewell
With the end of the school year we farewell a number of staff and thank them for all they have contributed to the school. Their dedication to our profession; their care and support of students, staff and families, and the gifts they have shared with us are all very much appreciated.
Mr Mark Donahoo, our Daily Organiser, is retiring after 43 years in teaching and 25 years of loyal service at CRC St Albans. In his career, Mark has been a classroom teacher in primary and PE, English, Religious Education and Humanities in secondary schools. He has been a Learning Area Leader in English and Physical Education and for many years was Sports Coordinator. We will miss his remarkable organisational skills, his energy and enthusiasm, his quirky sense of humour, his passion and commitment to teaching and the kindness and care he showed us all.
Mrs Lili Lupa, our library assistant is also retiring. Lili has been at the College for an amazing 35 years of dedicated service. Her own children were students at the College and she has now seen many children of former students come through. Throughout this time, Lili has been a gracious, generous and caring staff member. Her collegiality, wisdom and knowledge of all things associated with the library will be missed.
We congratulate both Mark and Lili on their careers, thank them for the service to the College, and wish them well in their retirement.
We also farewell our College Counsellor, Ms Rosa Baron Medina, Ms Adele Simoncini who takes up a position at Parade College and Mrs Mona-Lisa Schellebeck who has been on maternity leave and will take up a position closer to home. I thank each of them for all that they have brought to our community.
Well Done
I would like to congratulate and thank all students for the way that they finished the school year. Year 10 students and staff had a terrific final day with a picnic at Hanging Rock. It was a great chance to have some fun and to reminisce about the year.
Similarly, Years 7 – 9 students enjoyed activities on Thursday and finished with assemblies and pastoral care activities on Friday. Many thanks to all families for your support in ensuring that students finished so well.
Semester 2 Reports
These are now available to students and families through the Parent Access Module (PAM).
