PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

How quickly things change! Early last week we were preparing for Feast Day and hoping for fine weather. By Friday we were in lock down and our plans, like the plans of all Victorians were once again in array. As I write we have just learnt that the lockdown will be extended to Thursday 10 June, 2021. Whilst this is disappointing, it is important that we all continue to do our part to keep each other safe. Like the spider in our opening prayer, we will once again pick ourselves up, get back to work and keep doing our best.

The return to Learning from Home has gone smoothly. Attendance in online classes is good, students are engaging well, and staff and families are doing everything in their power to support them. Sadly, as we do this for the fourth time, we are now quite skilled in managing the transition between onsite and offsite learning. Hopefully, students and staff will be back at school sooner rather than later. Thank you to everyone.

You might be wondering about our choice of opening prayer. On Sunday morning as I headed out for a walk in near zero degree temperatures I saw the most wonderful spider web in the tree outside my home. The magical web, sparkling in the early morning sun  reminded me of this prayer and of the fragility of life. Whilst life is sometimes just hard work there is still much for which to be grateful.
