KIDS TEACHING KIDS CONFERENCE

On Tuesday the 29th of October, a group of students from CRC St Albans went to the Melbourne Water Kids Teaching Kids Conference 2019. The students who went to this conference were Sacreana Ulugia-Sa’ena, Tri Truong, Eleanore Durand Deslongrais,Jehan Daddoo,  Hilary Ho, Genevieve Durand Deslongrais, Victoria Olatunbosun and Caelen Khoo.

Kids Teaching Kids is a program where kids from Victoria and other states come to learn about our world and how we can save it. For this conference we went to two places, Melbourne University and Collingwood Children’s Farm. There were two days for everyone to present their ideas to each other, the CRC St Albans team came up with an idea of making a mindful mud dumpling, the influence of our idea was the GEM project, the project that we do at school. We focused on educating the kids about being grateful, showing empathy and being mindful, these values helped us to help kids understand the concept of the mindful mud dumplings. In my opinion our mindful mud dumpling workshop was pretty interesting and fun, for the fact that a lot of people were interested in making a mud dumpling and enjoying their time. For me as a first experience, it was amazing, helping and teaching others in a very calm environment. I would just like to thank Hayden because without his help it wouldn’t be possible.
