PARLIAMENTARY VISIT
On the 31st of October, Augustine, Jessica, Rhanel and I got the thrilling opportunity to take a tour of Parliament, thanks to our local council member Natalie Suleyman. In anticipation, we arrived at Parliament and caught up with Natalie and Rod Barton, founder of the Transport Matters Party, before taking a look around at the breathtaking library and astounding office spaces. We had the chance to sit and watch a question time where the politicians were debating over issues and it was a very insightful view into the life of politics. During morning tea and lunch, we discussed the direction which our proposal for students' free public transport in Melbourne would take, which has led us to this exhilarating point already. In between lunch with politicians and listening in question time, the chance to get a picture with our State Premiere Dan Andrews presented itself, which was an exciting experience for Jessica and I! By the end of the day, we had received the knowledge of what it would take to get into a future career in politics and had a greater understanding of the change-making process.
It has truly been an unforgettable experience which we will forever cherish through our future endeavours. Once again we thank Natalie Suleyman for this remarkable experience and opportunity into the riveting life of politics.
