World Day of the Poor 2019

November provides us with an opportunity to explore the issue of poverty around the world, with World Day of the Poor falling on November 17th.

Pope Francis tells us  “Poverty challenges us daily in the faces of men, women and children marked by: suffering, marginalisation and oppression. There are many who live in poverty in Australia according to the Australian Council of Social Services which includes 2.99 million people (13.3%) and 731 000 children (17.4%). There are many who live in poverty across the globe according to the Sustainable development goals these are 23 million people are currently on the brink of famine in South Sudan and other areas of East Africa and Yemen

In a world where there is so much inequality

between people,

You ask us to share from what we have.

Lord have mercy,

Lord have mercy.
