Student Leadership

As the year draws to a close, it’s the perfect moment to reflect on the milestones, memories and growth that have shaped our college community over the past twelve months. This year has been one of achievement, resilience and unity, demonstrating the unwavering spirit of our students, faculty and staff. This year the student leaders were involved in enriching the college community with a multitude of events that made the school a socially friendly and accepting environment. This year, the student leaders actively contributed to creating a vibrant and inclusive college environment by organizing a variety of events that fostered social connection and cultural acceptance.
The students began the year with a series of meaningful events, including Harmony Day, Cultural Dress Day, ANZAC Day, Mother’s Day Breakfast, R U OK? Day, Father’s Day, Cyber Safety Awareness Week, and Remembrance Day. A standout addition to the school calendar this year was Pyjama Day, a fundraiser dedicated to raising awareness for children in foster care, with proceeds generously donated to MacKillop House. The event saw enthusiastic participation from both students and staff, making it a truly memorable and fun-filled day.
On behalf of the college leadership community, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all our college leaders who have worked tirelessly to make our college a better place. A special acknowledgment goes to our Captains, Mia Ye and  Aurelius Catayong, and our Vice Captains, Corey Dang and Jennifer Tran, for their outstanding contributions and dedication to the student leadership program. They have excelled as role models and leaders, inspiring our entire student cohort through their commitment of pride and deliverance of the values of the college. We also extend our gratitude to our Peer Support Leaders, House Captains, Social Justice members, and School Representative Council members for their significant contributions to the college community. Through their planning and active participation in various events, including fundraisers for Foodbank and our partner school in Uganda, they have made a meaningful impact. A heartfelt thank you also goes to all the staff members who have supported and guided the leadership program throughout the year.
We wish all our student leaders the very best in their future endeavors and hope they have grown both personally and professionally through this invaluable leadership experience. As we look ahead, the college is excited to welcome our new Captains and Vice Captains for 2025. Oli Nedjo and Kassidy Lay will serve as our College Captains, while Nicholas Lay and Theresa Nguyen will take on the roles of Vice Captains. We look forward to supporting them and witnessing their leadership journey as they inspire and guide our college community.
