As we begin a new year’s work,

we turn to the God of newness, the God of creation and imagination,

the God who’s Spirit renews the face of the earth.

This year…

may we listen well when others speak;

may we appreciate each other’s views and gifts;

may we be open to learning;

may we enjoy working with each other.

Lord, shine light on our path,

put hope in our hearts,

bring fruit to our work.
